PM: Sasko Must Make Decision on New Hospital in Bratislava, Then We Can Act

Bratislava/Presov, January 17 (TASR) - The decision on the construction of a new national university hospital in Bratislava must be made by Health Minister Kamil Sasko (Voice-SD), and if he decides, then we can act, said Premier Robert Fico (Smer-SD) at a news conference held jointly with Sasko in Presov on Friday.
"I've told the minister very clearly - you must decide. If the decision is made, we can act. If a decision isn't made and we hesitate, it won't be built," said the premier.
The health minister confirmed at the news conference that the decision will be made soon. He's announced in the past that the location for the new hospital in Bratislava will be decided in the first quarter of this year. He also said that the government will deal with a resolution to scrap a decision on the construction of a new hospital in Bratislava's borough of Ruzinov.
The new national university hospital should have originally been built in the area of Razsochy, but the government later approved its construction in Ruzinov. The change was criticised by the Medical Trade Union (LOZ), which insisted that the hospital should be built in Razsochy.
