Vranov nad Toplou, January 17 (TASR) - To mark the 80th anniversary of the city's liberation from fascism, residents of Vranov nad Toplou (Presov region) honoured the fallen with a memorial ceremony, which also featured the opening of an exhibition titled "Let's Spark Children's Interest in History," displaying works by students from primary school.
According to the school director, Zlatica Halajova, the exhibition includes 3D models of historical buildings that the town's inhabitants can no longer see, such as the castle where Elizabeth Bathory's wedding took place, and other important landmarks. "Our goal was to present these building to the public in the form they once had," she said.
A unique feature of the exhibition is the creation of replicas of the city's historical streets in the popular video game Minecraft. "We replaced original or current buildings with historical structures, aiming to provide a glimpse into Vranov's past," explained the principal. Former students of the school also contributed to the project.
The project's implementation took a total of nine months. Initially, six months were dedicated to gathering historical materials, followed by another six months for programming the 3D models. The printing of the models took three months.
