Bratislava, January 22 (TASR) - Premier Robert Fico (Smer-SD) will convene a Security Council meeting to deal with the Slovak Intelligence Service's (SIS) information that were red in Parliament on Tuesday (January 21) for 9 a.m. on Thursday, the premier himself told a news conference on Wednesday.
The session will be held in an extended format to include President Peter Pellegrini and the leadership of Parliament, said Fico.
According to Fico, it is evident that the opposition doesn't want to take part in a fair political contest. He claims that there is an expert group operating on Slovak territory that was engaged in the "events in Georgia" as well as in the Ukrainian Maidan protests. He noted that the group is being strictly monitored.
The premier claimed that the group plans to end a peaceful protest by occupying government buildings, parliament and the Presidential Palace. "In a normal democratic state respecting the rule of law, the security forces take action, as it is a violation of the law, or even a violation of the Penal Code in some cases. The forces that are intended for this come and, of course, start putting things in order," said Fico. At that moment, "all the television sets of the world" will be turned on and will depict pictures of the police action, claimed Fico, adding that this will be followed by mass protests and a takeover of power in the country.
