Education Ministry Presents DigiEDU Programme at BETT Fair

Bratislava, January 22 (TASR) - Slovakia is participating for the first time this year in the prestigious BETT 2025 fair in London, with representatives from the Education Ministry attending from Wednesday to Friday, aiming to showcase Slovakia as a leader in digital education through the DigiEDU programme, TASR has learnt from the ministry's communications department. The global BETT (British Educational Training and Technology Show) fair is one of the most important events in the field of educational technology. Participants discuss topics such as artificial intelligence in education, critical thinking, and inclusive education. The fair is expected to attract around 30,000 participants from 130 countries. The ministry's participation in the London event aims to present Slovakia as a strong partner in digital innovations, with the DigiEDU programme being a key part of this effort. Launched last year, DigiEDU is the largest investment in the digitalisation of Slovak education, focusing on modernising primary and secondary schools to ensure equal opportunities for all students. The programme includes educational software licenses, inclusive digital equipment, and secure network coverage, all funded with over €225 million from the Slovak Recovery and Resilience Plan. "Participation in the BETT fair is an important step in showing the world that we consider digital education a priority. It's an opportunity to gain inspiration and expand international cooperation in educational innovations. Our ambition is to bring modern technologies that will help Slovak schools prepare students for the future challenges and enable them to succeed in a digitally connected world," explained Education Minister Tomas Drucker (Voice-SD). The ministry stated that every primary and secondary school will receive digital equipment. This includes tablets, laptops, computers, interactive whiteboards, and Microsoft 365 A3 licenses, with artificial intelligence tools also being part of the package. lin
