Bratislava, January 29 (TASR) - A criminal complaint made against MP Tomas Szalay (SaS) for administering COVID-19 vaccines as a doctor at a Bratislava football stadium is absurd, the Association of Outpatient Health Care Providers (ZAP) declared on Wednesday. ZAP voiced its full support for MP Szalay, pointing out that his actions helped to save a great number of lives. "Dignifying such a criminal complaint with a serious investigation grants it legitimacy and raises relevant concerns among all other health-care facilities and their employees," stated the ZAP spokesperson. According to ZAP, this might set a precedent for prosecuting any medical professional who provides health care properly in line with health standards. ZAP underlined that by his actions Szalay contributed towards raising awareness regarding vaccination against COVID-19 and thus prevented many health complications during the pandemic. "We think that in this country, especially in the health-care sector, we have a lot more urgent, weighty and, in particular, real problems that demand our immediate attention," said ZAP. The criminal complaint was filed by doctor Peter Liptak, who argued that Szalay purposefully gathered people together during the pandemic for vaccination, thus exposing them to the danger of infection. According to Liptak, the inoculation was carried out by mRNA vaccines, about whose safety no relevant evidence existed at the time. Liptak also pointed to statements made by Government Proxy for Investigating COVID-19 Pandemic Management Peter Kotlar, according to whom vaccination by mRNA technology is a type of "eugenic-genetic weapon". Bratislava regional police spokesperson Katarina Bartosova confirmed for TASR that the police are investigating the case. mf/df
