Bratislava, January 29 (TASR) - Slovak Towns and Villages Association (ZMOS) chairman Jozef Bozik and News Agency of the Slovak Republic (TASR) general director Vladimir Puchala signed a contract on cooperation for this year on Tuesday (January 27). In line with the contract, TASR will provide its news service in Slovak and Hungarian and photographs to towns and villages that are ZMOS members. They can use them for their own information purposes, for their official websites or periodicals directly published by local government. "We have a good network of regional reporters, which we are further developing. We've strengthened our writing editors, photo and video editors in the regions so that we can provide the top-quality and fastest information about goings on in local government," said Puchala. According to him, mayors of towns and villages know that TASR is present at press conferences and events organised by municipalities and brings fair information about what's happening in them. "ZMOS is a valuable and respected partner of us in fulfilling our public-service role," added Puchala. Bozik thanked TASR for correct cooperation and accurate reporting. "TASR not only provides its news service to ZMOS as an organisation that represents 97 percent of cities, towns and villages in Slovakia, but a lot of information comes from every single town and village," he noted, highlighting credibility of the agency news service from which other media draw information. ZMOS has had a contract with TASR since 2018. The cooperation between ZMOS and TASR was established based on the news agency's project called 'TASR to Every Municipality'. The project's aim was to provide local government with access to credible information from a verified source. ko/mcs
