Bratislava, February 9 (TASR) - Secondary school students can apply for the First Global Slovakia 2025 robotics competition, which is likely to take place in late April, with the chance to compete for a spot in the world finals, TASR has learnt from First Global Slovakia chairman Adam Kukla. "Every year, we move higher in the statistics. This year, we have high ambitions and are already looking forward to the innovative solutions from talented teams," he said. Kukla explained that there will be several changes in the competition this year. "The competition can be entered through three challenges," he stated, adding that the main part is the so-called hardware challenge, where the team designs, constructs, and programs a robot for the competition in the gaming arena. This year's theme is Nutrition for the Future. The chairman specified that teams will need to use the robot to move balls representing water and energy resources and produce food in the form of cubes, which they will then transport to storage. The most creative team will be awarded a special design prize for an innovative approach to robot construction and control. In addition to the main challenge, teams will also be evaluated in the team challenge and the new technologies challenge. Students can apply until February 14, with each team consisting of three to 12 students and a mentor who must be at least 18 years old and not a secondary school student at the time of registration. lin/mcs/am
