Bratislava, February 15 (TASR) - A total of 465 Slovaks went bankrupt in January, with 91.4 percent (425) of them being declared for the assets of private individuals and 8.6 percent (40) for the assets of entrepreneurs, according to an analysis published by CRIF–Slovak Credit Bureau (CRIF SK), which manages the credit registries of banking and non-banking houses. Men accounted for almost a 63-percent share of the total figure, numbering 292. The number of women who fell for personal bankruptcy in January was 173. "Only four women and ten men had a university education. The analysis also showed that most debtors have been of productive age for a long time. In the first month of this year, the largest number of them were aged between 40 to 49. This applies to both genders - men exceeded the threshold of 30 percent, while the share of bankrupt women in their forties exceeded 31 percent," quantified CRIF. A total of 47 homeless people accounted for 10.4 percent of the total number of declared bankruptcies. There were 11 married couples and ten people with family ties among those who went bankrupt in January, added the company. Almost 97 percent (450) of debtors opted for bankruptcy, while the rest (15) opted for instalment calendars. "We posted a significantly lower number of personal and corporate bankruptcies at the turn of January and February. According to information from the Legal Aid Centre, this was caused by technical problems with data export in state e-systems. For this reason, it makes no sense to compare January data with the previous period and draw analytical conclusions from it, as this would not reflect the real situation," said CRIF chief analyst Jana Markova. ko/df/lin
