Bratislava, February 22 (TASR) - The STU technology incubator InQb has been helping start-ups for 20 years and during this period, it has helped 92 start-ups into the world, 57 of which are still operating today, TASR was told by spokesman for the Slovak University of Technology (STU) in Bratislava Juraj Rybansky. STU Vice-rector for strategic projects, development, innovation and practice Maximilian Stremy announced steps to build an innovation ecosystem at an anniversary meeting this week. "We consider it to be very important for the future of Slovakia to support and motivate young people to entrepreneurial ideas, innovations and start-ups. Many innovative ideas will gain a toehold and can significantly raise the technological level and GDP of countries," said Stremy. Stremy wants to build the ecosystem with an aim to support and accelerate the ideas of STU students and staff. "We're currently preparing an important step - we're creating an investment fund at the STU with the participation of private capital," he stated, adding that they are also finalising the preparation of cooperation with the Georgia Institute of Technology in order to attract and support talent. The STU spokesman explained that the incubator has helped many projects. "For example, a project called Rewardly by Roman Osadsky, a student of the Faculty of Informatics and Information Technologies of the STU, became the absolute winner of the Student Entrepreneur Award 2024 and his colleague from the faculty Matus Kolejak with his start-up MeltFlex was also among the five finalists," he noted. am/mcs/mf
