Stats: Accommodation Facilities Reported Revenues of €613 million for 2024

Bratislava, February 24 (TASR) - Tourist accommodation providers in Slovakia posted revenues totalling almost €613 million (ex-VAT) for the whole of 2024, an increase of almost 9 percent year-on-year (y-o-y), the Statistics Office reported on Monday. The highest volumes of revenues, exceeding €125 million, were generated by accommodation providers in the three most important tourist regions: Bratislava, Zilina and Presov. Elsewhere, revenues posted y-o-y growth from 6 percent in Trencin region up to 13 percent in Banska Bystrica and Kosice regions. Domestic clientele provided 60 percent of the revenues, while 40 percent (€242 million) of revenues came from foreign visitors. The highest revenues from foreigners, amounting to €89 million, were posted by Bratislava region. Foreigners accounted for more than half, as much as 68 percent, of revenues in the region around the Slovak capital. Foreign visitors in the remaining regions paid less for accommodation than domestic guests. Last year accommodation services in Slovakia were provided by 5,265 facilities, 234 more than in 2023. A total of 79,000 rooms and 239,000 beds (including camping spots) were available to visitors. The net occupation rate of permanent beds was 27.7 percent, while the figure was 32.4 percent in the case of rooms. ko/df
