'For the People': Peace in Ukraine Remains Primary Goal, But It Must Be Just

Bratislava, February 24 (TASR) - Achieving peace in Ukraine remains the primary goal, but this peace must be just; it can't be the peace offered to Ukraine by US President Donald Trump together with Russian President Vladimir Putin - a peace where the aggressor takes everything and the victim loses both its territory and its mineral wealth, chairwoman of the 'For the People' party Veronika Remisova said in response to the third anniversary of the beginning of the Russian invasion and war in Ukraine. "Such a 'peace process', where the aggressor gets everything and the victim gets nothing, will only lead to any larger state not hesitating to plunder smaller states," she noted. Remisova also considers it to be extremely important for the European Union to be united, because the security situation in Ukraine will affect Europe in particular and especially Slovakia. "It would be a huge risk if our neighbour were to be a semi-failed state or a Russian enclave, which is what Putin is trying to do. Slovakia also needs a democratic and stable Ukraine as a neighbour for economic reasons," said Remisova. am/mcs
