Banska Bystrica, February 24 (TASR) - The construction of the F.D. Roosevelt Faculty Hospital in Banska Bystrica is going according to plan, Health Minister Kamil Sasko (Voice-SD) and hospital director Miriam Lapunikova informed on Monday about the current status of the construction of the hospital, which is the largest investment financed from the recovery plan not only in the health-care sector but also within Slovakia's entire Recovery and Resilience Plan.
"Roosevelt Hospital has an absolutely unique position in the region with a catchment area for approximately 660,000 residents. In addition, it provides supra-regional health care and is classified as a level-four hospital. When completed, it will have 771 new beds, including 695 standard and 76 intensive care beds. These newly built beds form a significant part of Slovakia's commitment in the recovery plan. The total investment from the recovery plan amounts to more than €354 million, ex-VAT. It is a huge investment," said Sasko, who regularly visits the site to check how the construction work is progressing.
"I can say that the hospital team, together with the contractor, are doing a great job and are currently meeting all the set milestones of the Recovery and Resilience Plan," stressed Sasko.
