Tripartite to Discuss Active Measures for Long-term Unemployed

Bratislava, February 25 (TASR) - The Economic and Social Council (tripartite) is scheduled to discuss on Monday, March 3 an amendment to the Employment Services Act, which should improve and streamline the integration of long-term unemployed people with low qualifications who receive assistance in material need. "The draft law aims to modify the legal framework for the provision of employment services by the Labour, Social Affairs and the Family Office by providing activities focused on finding a job and offering suitable employment with the aim of providing employment to persons who are members of a household receiving assistance in material need," said the Labour Ministry in an explanatory report. Furthermore, the conditions for the provision of the full amount of the material hardship allowance could be adjusted by accepting an offer of suitable employment. The Labour Ministry also proposes to modify the activation allowance by scaling its amount according to the degree of activation and extending the possibility of carrying out smaller municipal services within the region. am/mcs
