Kalinak: Addendum to Contract on Procurement of Patria Vehicles Must Be Signed

Bratislava, February 26 (TASR) - It is necessary to sign an addendum to the contract on the procurement of Patria armoured vehicles, as Patria is not so flexible as other suppliers, Defence Minister Robert Kalinak (Smer-SD) declared after a session of the government on Wednesday. "Another problem with Patria is that some kind of testing is needed throughout the course of supplies, which, at the moment, prolongs delivery times," added Kalinak. Slovakia put in an order for 76 8x8 Patria armoured vehicles back in 2022 at a cost of €447 million, with logistics, infrastructure and ammunition included. All vehicles are slated to be delivered by 2027. mf/mcs
