Bratislava, February 26 (TASR) - Opposition KDH has several questions regarding the construction of the Gotion InoBat Batteries facility near Surany (Nitra region) and, on behalf of the people, would like to learn what guarantees there are that the environmental impact study is going to be carried out meticulously in this case, the KDH press department reported on Wednesday. "Following today's meeting with battery facility investors in Surany, Prime Minister Robert Fico stated that he's ready to answer all questions concerning this project. That's why we'd like to ask, on behalf of many inhabitants of Surany and its vicinity, who have doubts about the construction works, the questions that KDH has been raising regarding this investment for a year already and still hasn't received any answers," said the press department. KDH pointed out that the selected location features the most valuable land with precious water sources. Because of this, KDH would like to know whether a different location is not being considered and whether it is stipulated in the contract where the products manufactured by this facility will be sold. "In what way is the Prime Minister planning to deal with the fact, officially communicated by the United States, that we likely won't be able to export cars or parts manufactured by Gotion to the USA, as this company and its supply chains has been put on a sanctions list? Gotion today cannot take part in any public tender in the United States because of its use of human slave labour in China and the security risks this company poses," added KDH. mf/mcs
