Bratislava, March 1 (TASR) - The European Union (EU) must behave responsibly and, above all, actively in this tense situation, President Peter Pellegrini has said in reaction to Friday's (February 28) clash between Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and US President Donald Trump. Pellegrini welcomed the idea of ​​holding an emergency summit between the EU and the USA on Ukraine and European security. "I believe that the current leadership of Ukraine will take a constructive approach to the solution that will emerge from joint talks of the transatlantic community and launch constructive negotiations on establishing peace between the two enemies," said Pellegrini. According to him, Ukraine deserves a lasting and sustainable peace after three years of the war. Zelenskyy prematurely left negotiations with Trump on Friday, after Trump wrote that the Ukrainian president wasn't ready for peace.
