Bratislava, March 3 (TASR) - MP Rudolf Huliak, the nominee for the post of Tourism and Sport Minister, assured President Peter Pellegrini during their meeting on Monday that neither he nor his National Coalition party would promote any foreign policy priorities conflicting with Slovakia’s national interests in EU and NATO membership, with further steps to be communicated to Prime Minister Robert Fico, TASR learnt from the President's Office on Monday.
"MP Rudolf Huliak presented and handed over his priorities to the president of the republic in the event of his appointment as minister. In addition to general matters, the head of state was particularly interested in his foreign policy stances," said the President's Office.
Huliak described the discussion as productive, stating that the two didn't encounter any topics on which they disagreed. He also announced that he would attend coalition council meetings and serve as a nominee of Smer-SD. He was nominated for the ministerial post by Premier Robert Fico (Smer-SD).
