Police: Man Injured Young Man After Asking About Hungarian Affiliation

Bratislava, March 5 (TASR) - A man in Bratislava on Sturova Street early Saturday morning (March 1) injured a young man with a knife after he responded to a question about his Hungarian ethnicity, with criminal police now investigating the case due to suspicions of committing a criminal act of extremism, TASR has learnt from Bratislava regional police spokesperson Lukas Pecek.
"According to the information gathered so far, an unknown man approached a group of four Hungarian-speaking young men with the question of whether they were from Hungary, to which one of them answered affirmatively in Slovak. Subsequently, the unknown man put a knife to the neck of one of the young men and inflicted a minor cutting injury on him, threw the knife away near the scene of the incident and left the place," the spokesman added.
As Pecek added, the victim personally reported to the police station after the incident. According to the spokesman, criminal proceedings have been initiated for the offense of disorderly conduct in conjunction with the offense of causing bodily harm.
