Bratislava, March 7 (TASR) - Slovakia's GDP in fixed prices grew by 1.8 percent year-on-year (y-o-y) in the final quarter of 2024, the Statistics Office reported on Friday. A rate of growth of over 1 percent was maintained in all four quarters of last year, with the 4Q24 figure being the second lowest. GDP volume in current prices rose by 4.8 percent y-o-y to reach €33.9 billion. Seasonally adjusted, GDP was 0.5 percent higher than in the previous quarter. The performance of manufacturing industries, expressed by gross added value, slowed down significantly y-o-y in the final quarter. The output of the information and communications sector fell by 3.8 percent, while construction output decreased by 1.3 percent, and that of real estate sector by 0.9 percent. ko/df
