Protests Taking Place in Several Slovak Towns and Cities on Friday Evening

Bratislava, March 7 (TASR) - Protest rallies are being held in several towns and cities across Slovakia on Friday evening under the slogan 'Slovakia is Europe'. Protests are taking place, for example, in Bratislava, Kosice, Banska Bystrica, Nitra, Trnava, Poprad (Presov region), Namestovo (Zilina region), Bardejov and Vranov nad Toplou (both Presov region). They are being held in some foreign cities as well. "We're hearing delusions that the Russians would be more reliable neighbours than Ukraine, some others dream of leaving the European Union, while more people are dying in Ukraine," stated one of the protest's organisers, the 'Peace to Ukraine' NGO, adding that Slovakia belongs to Europe. The police have informed TASR that they will attempt to oversee a safe and calm course for the public rallies across Slovakia on Friday. ko/df
