Bratislava, March 9 (TASR) - Opposition MP Frantisek Majersky (Christian Democrats/KDH) has called for an extraordinary meeting of the special parliamentary committee for supervising the Slovak Intelligence Service (SIS); he wants to initiate it in connection with the visit of MEP and vice-chairman of the coalition Smer-SD party Lubos Blaha to Moscow and his meeting with head of Russia's Foreign Intelligence Service Sergey Naryshkin.
"It can't happen that a Slovak MEP graciously bows to Russian intelligence and SIS is silent. I'm therefore calling an extraordinary committee to investigate the risks to Slovakia that MEP Blaha's actions are causing to our citizens, because it appears that he's collaborating with the Russian Federation," said Majersky, calling on the Slovak security services to act resolutely. "To protect the sovereignty and security of our citizens," he added.
