Speaking on STVR's discussion programme 'O 5 minut 12' (Five Minutes to Twelve) on Sunday, Tourism and Sport Minister Rudolf Huliak (a Smer-SD nominee) said that the stability of the ruling coalition isn't threatened, expressing a belief that Premier Robert Fico (Smer-SD) will manage the negotiations with Independent MPs Samuel Migal and Radomir Salitros, who have been expelled from the Voice-SD party, and Voice-SD MP Jan Ferencak.
Huliak doesn't think they'll join the opposition. "I know all the MPs, I rule out that they will join the opposition. Every one of those guys realises that they can't let the government fall and I firmly believe that they'll behave accordingly," said Huliak.
However, chairman of the opposition Christian Democrats (KDH) Milan Majersky, who was also on the show, criticised the coalition. He thinks that the ruling coalition doesn't currently have the support of 76 MPs. Majersky therefore doesn't know whether it'll be able to open a possible parliamentary session so that Miroslav Radacovsky, who is to replace Huliak in Parliament, can take the oath.
Huliak thinks they will have enough votes. "I don't think anyone would go into an extraordinary parliamentary session without being sure that it'll be opened," he noted, adding that his replacement Radacovsky, has assured him of consistency with the ruling coalition. "I have no problem to return at any time in case Mr. Radacovsky should cause the fall of the government," he emphasised.
