Former Police Chief Hamran to Cooperate with SaS, Might Also Join Party

Bratislava, March 10 (TASR) - Former police chief Stefan Hamran will cooperate with the opposition Freedom and Solidarity (SaS) party on the agenda of internal security, and he may even join SaS as a party member, SaS chair Branislav Groehling announced at a press conference on Monday.
"It's necessary to ... call back into service at least those police officers who are capable of doing good jobs and not to keep in positions of authority and investigator posts those driven by nothing but pure vengeance, whose charges are swept off the table by courts. There's a need to stabilise the Police Corps," said Hamran, referring to the priorities that he would purse if SaS became part of the next government.
Hamran underlined that he perceives SaS as a party of experts, capable of finding solutions. What appeals to him is that both conservative and liberal politicians can be found among the party's ranks.
SaS chair Groehling stated that the party is busy providing voters with an alternative to the incumbent coalition, and he proclaimed that Hamran's centre-right economic leanings are in accordance with party views.
