Police Arrest Wanted Slovak Citizen, Charged with Smuggling and Selling Cocaine

Bratislava, March 10 (TASR) - Last week, the police arrested a wanted Slovak citizen who had been on the run since 2018 and is accused of drug trafficking, specifically smuggling large amounts of cocaine from the Netherlands and distributing and selling it in Bratislava, and will face legal consequences under Slovak law, TASR has learnt from Police Corps spokesperson Roman Hajek. "After seven years of arduous searches, an operation was carried out that led to his successful arrest in Lloret de Mar, Spain, where he was hiding under a false identity," the spokesman said. The search was carried out on the basis of an arrest warrant issued by the Bratislava IV District Court and the subsequent European Arrest Warrant. Hajek noted that the police appreciated the patience, thorough work and excellent cooperation with international partner forces. Thanks to them, Hajek said, it was possible to close this difficult case and take the necessary steps to ensure justice.
