Bratislava, March 11 (TASR) - M.R. Stefanik Airport in Bratislava processed 84,774 passengers during both departures and arrivals in February 2025, which is 19 percent more than in the same month of 2024, TASR learnt from airport spokesperson Veronika Demovicova on Tuesday.
Among the most used air routes is also the connection to Istanbul, Turkey, which was launched last year.
"Three frequencies per week and the possibility of connecting flights in Istanbul, Turkey, to other destinations, including Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, Georgia, Kuwait and other destinations in Turkey, such as Ankara, Izmir, Kayseri and others, have ensured that the new route to Istanbul has become in a short time one of the most used routes departing from Bratislava, which we're very pleased about," said airport director general Dusan Novota.
Among the scheduled flights in February, passengers used most flights from Bratislava to London, Manchester, Rome-Ciampino, Thessaloniki and Istanbul.
A total of 1,597 flights were dealt with by the airport in February, up by 4 percent year-on-year. In total, the airport processed more than 170,000 passengers in January and February this year, which is 15 percent more than in the same period last year.
