Bratislava, March 14 (TASR) - The State Institute for Drug Control (SUKL) will consider filing a criminal complaint against Government Proxy for Investigating COVID-19 Pandemic Management Peter Kotlar for his statements related to vaccines, demanding that he should submit the methodology for testing the vaccines in question to the institute for review, TASR was told by SUKL communications specialist Martina Steskova on Friday in response to Kotlar's press conference on Thursday (March 13).
"The state institute considers the views presented by Mr Kotlar to be unscientific, dangerous and likely to endanger public health. Although Mr Kotlar puts himself in the position of an unbiased and free-thinking researcher, in reality his statements lead to the spreading of alarmist reports," said Steskova, adding that the institute has encountered claims in the past that were not based on facts.
Steskova noted that the institute is responsible for supervising the safety, efficacy and quality of all medicines, and she insisted that it carries out this work with full commitment every day. She pointed out that SUKL is a full partner of the European Medicines Agency and works in international teams to ensure that medicines are of the required quality.
Kotlar has asked Prosecutor-General Maros Zilinka to take immediate action regarding the results of an analysis of batches of vaccines used against COVID-19 among the Slovak population. According to him, these showed that all the tested batches of mRNA vaccines contained genetic information that has the ability to modify human DNA. This, he said, could lead to the development of several serious diseases.
