UGKK Draws Attention to Fake Letter on Changes in Land Registry

Bratislava, March 14 (TASR) - The Geodesy, Cartography, and Cadastre Office (UGKK) is warning the public about a false letter that is circulating at the moment and which on behalf of the office states changes in the land registry, allegedly caused by the recent hacker attack. The letter in question is a forgery, contains a lot of nonsense and is accompanied by a forged signature of an office representative. Therefore, the authority is filing a criminal complaint against an unknown perpetrator, the office said on Friday. "UGKK can unequivocally rule out that unauthorised changes to land-registry data could have occurred as a result of the recent hacker attack or that the property rights of citizens could have been compromised. Extensive forensic analysis has confirmed that despite the temporary decommissioning of the systems, all the data remained intact," stressed the office. am/df
