The police received information about the shooting shortly after 10.00 p.m. "Officers from the Police Corps were immediately dispatched to the scene, where they found a 60-year-old man with injuries and a damaged car that he had been driving," stated the spokeswoman.
The man was transported by emergency medical services to the hospital. "According to the preliminary medical report, he didn't suffer gunshot wounds, but rather injuries likely caused by shards of broken glass from the vehicle, which will require seven days of treatment and sick leave," Ivanova further stated.
According to the police, the 60-year-old man was driving his car on the road near the recreational area, heading from Kosice to Gelnica. "While being overtaken by an unknown vehicle, the currently unidentified perpetrator is believed to have fired an undetermined number of shots at the front window, with the bullet passing through the entire width of the vehicle and damaging the passenger's window," stated Ivanova.
