Minister Erik Tomas Expresses Condolences to Families of Victims in Velky Saris

Bratislava, March 20 (TASR) - Labour Minister Erik Tomas (Voice-SD) has expressed his deep condolences to the families and relatives of the five victims of the fire in Velky Saris (Presov region), adding that Presov labour office staff are already at the scene, TASR learnt from ministry's communications department director Karolina Ducka on Thursday. "They're helping the local community to recover from the tragedy, ensuring a safe environment for children, providing psychological and social support, and offering further assistance to the affected family and relatives. We're closely monitoring the situation, working with local authorities and other state institutions, and we're ready to continue providing help," said the minister. On Wednesday, March 19, a fire broke out overnight in Velky Saris, affecting several housing units. Five people died in the blaze, of which four were children. Around 30 people lost their homes. The city has declared a state of emergency in response to the tragedy. lin/df
