Bratislava, March 21 (TASR) - Protest rallies called 'Slovakia is Europe' are taking place in several Slovak cities and towns on Friday evening, including in Bratislava, Kosice, Banska Bystrica, Nitra, Trnava, Presov, Zilina and Bardejov (Presov region). Protests are also taking place in some foreign cities. "The situation in Slovakia is critical. A so-called Russian law has been submitted to Parliament, which copies totalitarian practices and poses a serious threat to the non-profit sector and NGOs. With this proposal, [Robert] Fico's [Smer-SD] government has taken another step towards autocracy," noted one of the organisers of the rally, the 'Peace to Ukraine' civic association, pointing out that Slovakia is facing a disinformation campaign regarding the COVID-19 vaccines and that Slovak culture is facing systematic destruction. am
