Actor Stefan Kvietik Dies at 90

Bratislava, March 23 (TASR) - Movie, theatre and voice actor Stefan Kvietik passed away on Friday (March 21) at the age of 90, Slovak National Theatre press secretary Izabela Pazitkova confirmed to TASR.
The first movie Kvietik appeared in was 'Smrt sa Vola Engelchen' (Engelchen is the Name of Death), a WW2 movie released in 1960, and subsequently also in 'Skalni v Ofsajde' comedy. Kvietik portrayed an iconic role in Peter Solana's movie 'Boxer a Smrt' (Boxer and Death).
In 1989, Kvietik joined politics and served as a lawmaker in 1990-94 as well as the House vice-chair for Education, Science, Culture and Sports.
Decorated with many awards, Stefan Kvietik became the fourth Slovak actor with his own Walk of Fame granite tile in front of P.O. Hviezdoslav Theatre in Bratislava.
