Bratislava, March 23 (TASR) - Stefan Kvietik belonged to a golden generation of Slovak "actor virtuosos", whose performances were pure magic to watch, an experience so rare it lingered in the soul, and at the same time he was one of those actors who loved Slovakia and was doing everything he could to cultivate politics, Prime Minister Robert Fico (Smer-SD) stated in his social media post on Saturday (March 22).
Fico recalled how he met Kvietik in person when Fico set foot in Parliament for the first time back in 1992, when Kvietik was serving as a lawmaker representing the Slovak National Party (SNS). Back then, also serving as lawmakers were famous writers, Laco Ballek or Peter Jaros, the author of the Thousand-year-old Bee.
"Those true artists were making art and spreading love for Slovakia. They didn't know hatred and didn't misuse their famous faces for stirring up crowds and polarizing society," said Fico, alluding to ongoing protests of artists against his Government.
Slovak movie, theatre and voice actor Stefan Kvietik passed away on Friday (March 21) at the age of 90.
