Bratislava, March 24 (TASR) - An investigator charged six people with fraud in drawing EU funds. They caused damage worth almost €7 million, Police Corps Presidium spokesperson Roman Hajek told TASR on Monday, adding that the police carried out a security operation called 'Foil 3' in the Nitra, Zilina and Presov regions last week. "As part of the operation, we conducted searches of houses and other premises, during which important documentary evidence, financial resources and other items related to criminal activity were seized," said Hajek. Six persons have been charged with the continuing crime of damaging the EU's financial interests and the continuing crime of money loundering, said the spokesperson, adding that they were drawing money from the Integrated Infrastructure operational programme. "A European delegated prosecutor has filed a motion to prosecute two of the charged persons in custody. The Specialised Criminal Court decided to take them in custody due to concerns that they might influence witnesses and continue in their criminal activities," said Hajek. ko
