The Hague, March 27 (TASR-correspondent) - The Netherlands is an important trade partner for Slovakia and belongs among the top five investors in the country, yet there is still room for more cooperation in the fields of economy and defence, Foreign and European Affairs Minister Juraj Blanar stated after his meeting with Dutch counterpart Caspar Veldkamp in his visit to the Netherlands on Thursday.
Blanar pointed out that about 50 large-sized Dutch firms are active on Slovakia's market, in which they have recently invested more than €9 billion. "More investments are being carried out in eastern Slovakia even as we speak, which only confirms that the Netherlands lists Slovakia as a good-investments country," claimed Blanar, who voiced hope that this trend will continue.
As for potential avenues of further cooperation, Blanar identified fields of green technologies, nuclear energy and defence as most promising.
