Bratislava, March 29 (TASR) - M.R. Stefanik Airport in Bratislava will switch to the summer flight schedule as of Sunday (March 30), planning to include six new air routes, Bratislava airport spokeswoman Veronika Demovicova reported earlier this week. Direct flights to the Italian cities of Bari and Milan-Malpensa are to be launched from Bratislava as of Sunday, and a new air route to Gdansk, Poland, will be opened on Tuesday, April 1. In the summer season, from June to September, air connections will be added to the Croatian city of Zadar and the Greek island of Skiathos. Flights will also be available from Bratislava airport to the Croatian island of Brac. Direct flights from Bratislava to Copenhagen will be added twice a week as of the end of June. In addition to the year-round service to Istanbul, a regular seasonal service to Antalya in Turkey will be added as of April. This will operate four times a week during the holiday months. The summer schedule will see an increase in the frequency of flights to Alghero in Sardinia, with daily flights from Bratislava. According to Bratislava airport, the highest number of scheduled and charter flights during the summer will head to Antalya, Turkey, with almost 1,300 arrivals and departures. Antalya will be followed by Alghero in Sardinia, Hurghada in Egypt and other popular summer destinations including Larnaca in Cyprus and Burgas in Bulgaria. From June to September regular flights will also be available from Bratislava to the Greek islands of Rhodes, Crete, Corfu and Zakynthos, as well as to Mallorca, Burgas and Larnaca. Flights to Dubai will take place as of May. am/df/ko
