EC Preliminarily Greenlights Fifth RRF Payment Request of Slovakia

Brussels/Bratislava, April 1 (TASR-correspondent) - The European Commission (EC) announced on Tuesday that it has approved the preliminary assessment of 20 out of 21 milestones and targets related to Slovakia's fifth payment request of €516.8 million in grants (excluding pre-financing) under the Recovery and Resilience Facility (RRF), which is a central component of the EU's NextGenerationEU recovery plan, TASR learnt from its special correspondent in Brussels. As of now, Slovakia will have a six-month period to meet the remaining milestone. At its end, the European Commission will assess whether the target has been satisfactorily met. If so, the suspension of part of the payment will be lifted, and the suspended amount paid out. The EC pointed out that Slovakia's Recovery and Resilience Plan, financed with grants amounting to €6.4 billion, includes a wide range of investments and reform measures. mf
