No-confidence Motion in Kalinak Not Held, Parliament Inquorate

Bratislava, April 2 (TASR) - Parliament didn't deliberate on the no-confidence motion in Defence Minister Robert Kalinak (Smer-SD) on Wednesday morning, due to a lack of quorum. Only 67 lawmakers were present in the Chamber. The next attempt is to be held in an hour. Legislators had to take attendance manually, as MP Marek Krajci's ('Slovakia'-For the People-KU) electronic voting device failed. "What happened was that MP Krajci requested his unit to be replaced and a subsequent system update was taking place. I think it's normal for such a situation to occur sometimes. It's nothing unusual, even though we didn't experience that in Parliament before," House Vice-chair Andrej Danko (SNS) told the media. The motion to oust Kalinak was initiated by the opposition's 'Slovakia'-For the People-KU caucus over the fact that Kalinak has decided not to include his wife's ownership of a villa in Croatia in his property declaration in order to "protect his family's privacy". mf
