Bratislava, April 2 (TASR) - Justice Minister Boris Susko (Smer-SD) hopes that former crime boss Mikulas Cernak's request for parole will be considered by a court in a fair manner, with all aspects including the bereaved whose loved ones were murdered by Cernak taken into account.
"The court must take into consideration everything that informs the verdict, the weight of all the crimes, the amount of time that has passed since they were committed, as well as whether the convict is capable of rejoining society in a proper manner, and, of course, the impact of such a court decision on the bereaved as well," stated Susko before the government session on Wednesday.
Trnava District Court is hearing Cernak's request to be released from prison on parole. He's serving a life sentence for multiple murders but is eligible to apply for parole because he has now served 25 years in prison.
