Bratislava, April 2 (TASR) - The STVR Council has invited potential candidates to apply for the post of general director of public-service Slovak Television and Radio.
Those interested in the post of STVR chief have until April 17 to apply, STVR has posted on its website.
Candidates must have a second-level university degree and at least five years of professional managerial experience. They must also submit a project for the management and development of STVR.
The creation of STVR bodies is related to a change in the law that changed the then RTVS (Radio and Television of Slovakia) into STVR last year and prematurely terminated the terms of then general director Lubos Machaj and supervisory body members. The STVR Council, whose new powers include electing and dismissing the general director, was created and fully staffed during the past couple of days. The first meeting of the newly-created nine-member council was held on Tuesday (April 1). Among other things, it approved the wording of the call for candidates to apply for the STVR general director post.
At the moment, Igor Slanina is serving as STVR's executive official on a temporary basis.
