Sutaj Estok's Response to US Tariffs: Europe Must Innovate and Manufacture

Bratislava, April 3 (TASR) - The European Union has spent years inventing pseudo-problems, moralising the world and neglecting the most basic issues — security, prosperity and stability for its own people, Interior Minister and coalition Voice-SD leader Matus Sutaj Estok stated on social media Thursday. "We shouldn't be surprised that the new American administration isn't afraid to take any measures against the weakened European Union," stated Sutaj Estok. According to him, the reality of 25-percent tariffs on cars and 20-percent tariffs on all products imported from the EU to the USA is something the European Union must respond to immediately. "It's time to stop getting caught up in the nonsense of the Green Deal and start focusing on the Real Deal — a return to real politics," he said. According to him, the world today works with the USA innovating, China manufacturing and the EU regulating. "But we need a Europe that doesn't just regulate, but also manufactures and innovates. It's time for European leaders to take off their rose-tinted spectacles and start implementing measures that actually make sense," added the Voice-SD leader. lin/df
