Czech Republic to Check All Lorries from Slovakia at Border Crossings

včera 18:43
Prague, April 3 (TASR-correspondent) - The Czech Republic will introduce stricter measures to prevent the spread of foot-and-mouth disease onto its territory, with all lorries weighing above 3.5 tonnes and heading from Slovakia to the Czech Republic required to use the Hodonin-Holic border crossing if their cargo is nonveterinary and four other select crossings if there's a veterinary cargo, TASR's correspondent in Prague has learnt from spokesperson of the Czech State Veterinary Administration Petr Vorlicek on Thursday. "Until now, all vehicles without veterinary cargo could use any border crossing. Now the transit is limited to these five crossings, four of which can be used by lorries with veterinary cargoes and the last one by all other lorries," added Vorlicek. The four other border crossings are Lanzhot-Brodske, Stary Hrozenkov-Drietoma, Bila-Bumbalka-Makov and Mosty u Jablunkova-Svrcinovec. All lorries will be disinfected at the five border crossings, although those with veterinary cargoes in a more thorough manner. mf
