SAK Urges Gov't and Parliament to Bolster Protection of Lawyer Profession

Bratislava, April 3 (TASR) - The Slovak Bar Association (SAK) warns of lingering attacks on lawyers motivated by their profession as well as suspicions of breaches of attorney-client privilege, which is why SAK urges the government and Parliament to bolster the protection of lawyer profession and its independence. In its press statement, released on its website, SAK warned that it has recorded longstanding interference with the freedom and independence of the lawyer profession. "This concerns publicly known criminal cases as well as the process of carrying out routine agenda," reads the text. mf
