Bratislava, April 4 (TASR) - A Serbian citizen wanted in connection with the unauthorised receipt of pandemic aid has been extradited from Montenegro to Slovakia, TASR has learnt from Alexandra Szakalova from the Slovak Justice Ministry's press department.
An international arrest warrant was issued for the accused on March 3 of this year by the Specialised Criminal Court for crimes including organising and supporting a criminal group, subsidy fraud, money-laundering and forgery of public documents. The damage caused by these crimes exceeds €13 million.
"The accused, J.P., a citizen of the Republic of Serbia, was extradited from Montenegro to Slovakia on March 26, 2025 based on a decision by the Justice Ministry of Montenegro from March 13, 2025," stated Szakalova.
Szakalova noted that the extradition took place following a request from the Slovak Justice Ministry and after the necessary procedural steps and communication with the authorities of Montenegro.
