Liberation80: Ruzomberok Commemorates Liberation with Musical Event

Ruzomberok, April 4 (TASR) - Friday in Ruzomberok (Zilina region) is dedicated to commemorating the 80th anniversary of the town's liberation during WWII, which falls on Saturday (April 5). The municipality, in cooperation with the military health service and the military health service headquarters, has prepared accompanying events for the public on this occasion, Ruzomberok spokesman Vladimir Miskovcik has confirmed for TASR. "Accompanying events are intended for the public. For primary and secondary schools there's a demonstration of military equipment, medical equipment, there are military rescuers. A professional lecture has been prepared for secondary schools, for grammar schools, which is related to the liberation of the town, WWII and the events that took place both in Ruzomberok and in the region," said the spokesman. The programme also included a wreath-laying ceremony on Freedom Square. The day-long programme will culminate with a concert for the public that will feature a performance by a military orchestra from Banska Bystrica. ko/df
