Liberation80: Mikulas Commemorates Its Liberation by Reconstructing Battles

Liptovsky Mikulas, April 5 (TASR) - The town of Liptovsky Mikulas in Zilina region commemorated its liberation with a reconstruction of the battles, in which 120 soldiers took part. During the three-day celebrations, the commemorative act of laying wreaths on Saturday at the Haj Nicovo memorial was also attended by House Chair Richard Rasi (Voice-SD). "The town of Liptovsky Mikulas values history and the fact that some of the most difficult battles in Slovakia were fought here, together with Bratislava we were liberated on April 4, so we decided that we must celebrate the 80th anniversary with all respect," said head of the municipal authority's strategic management department Jan Blchac Jr. In the vicinity of the Haj Nicovo memorial, battles were performed by military history clubs, spectators watched a duel of planes, the fighting of 120 soldiers, looked at a field kitchen, tried firing weapons with blanks and walked through the trenches as it was authentic 80 years ago. am
