Austrian Foot-and-mouth Disease Team Ends Its Activities in Slovakia on Sunday

Bratislava, April 6 (TASR) - The Austrian CBRN decontamination module has finished its activities related to foot-and-mouth disease in Slovakia on Sunday, the Interior Ministry reports on its website, adding that the module has been operating since March 26. The Austrian unit provided continuous decontamination of lorries coming from Hungary to Slovakia at the Rusovce-Rajka motorway border crossing point. "During their operation in Slovakia, they decontaminated 6,069 lorries," wrote the ministry. Representatives of the Slovak security forces and the Defence and Interior Ministries met with the members of the module on Sunday in Gabcikovo (Trnava region) to thank them for their assistance and deployment during the emergency situation. The Interior Ministry added that the Czech Republic's Fire and Rescue Corps continues to assist in Slovakia, decontaminating persons and equipment at the Medvedov border crossing and in the village of Plavecky Stvrtok (Bratislava region). am
