Bratislava, April 8 (TASR) - Interior Minister Matus Sutaj Estok (Voice-SD) has awarded decorations and honours to members of the Special Task Force of the Police Corps Presidium on the occasion of its handover of the ATLAS international association presidency to Swedish special unit Nationella insatsstyrkan, the Interior Ministry's press department reported on Monday.
"I deeply appreciate the results of your work during the past four-year presidency. I especially value your excellent managerial and decision-making skills, your outstanding performance in challenging tasks, and your exemplary representation of the Police Corps, the Interior Ministry and the entire Slovak Republic," stated Sutaj Estok.
The Special Task Force of the Police Corps Presidium took over the presidency of the association in 2021. During its mandate, it focused on strengthening cooperation with Europol, creating financial stability for the association, improving the sharing of experience, and organising joint exercises. The ATLAS international association brings together 38 special anti-terrorist units from EU-member states and other countries. Its goal is to strengthen cooperation and exchange experience in the fight against terrorism.
