Sutaj Estok: I Guarantee that All Cases of Police Abuse Will Be Investigated

Bratislava, April 9 (TASR) - I guarantee that all cases of abuse of the police for political cleansing, management of the pandemic or donation of defence equipment to Ukraine will be fairly investigated, said Interior Minister Matus Sutaj Estok (Voice-SD) at a press conference on Wednesday, adding that this will be done not on the basis of political orders, but solely on the basis of evidence and facts. "It may take justice a little longer, but I refuse to allow the door to be kicked open again and the time of political revenge to return. Everything will be investigated, but properly and above all according to the law," said Sutaj Estok. According to the minister, he "has put in order" the group of investigators cantered around Jan Curilla. He stated that he's taken them off duty based of the law. Coalition representatives for Smer-SD again have called into question the group of investigators centred around Jan Curilla, pointing to their alleged vulgar communications. Premier Robert Fico (Smer-SD) stressed that he has no influence on the law enforcement bodies but called on them to act. Jan Curilla has responded that the group perceives the comments made against it as an expression of frustration and despair that the political revenge aimed against the investigators isn't going as expected. am/df
