Dvorak: By Ousting Kotlar, Fico Can Show He Respects Science and COVID Victims

Bratislava, April 10 (TASR) - Prime Minister Robert Fico (Smer-SD) can demonstrate his respect for the expert community, scientists and especially the victims of the pandemic and the bereaved by ousting Government Proxy for Investigating COVID-19 Pandemic Management Peter Kotlar, as Kotlar's continued presence in the post would amount to nothing but open disrespect for their memory, stated MP Oskar Dvorak (Progressive Slovakia/PS) on Thursday in response to Kotlar's latest statements. "Kotlar shared another mix of misguided opinions. If Fico's government calls on the public to respect experts in the context of foot-and-mouth disease, it should also respect the opinions of those experts who have pointed out that Kotlar's views have been completely disproven. They undermine public trust and the trust of patients in experts," remarked Dvorak. The lawmaker pointed out that by virtue of Slovakia's membership of the World Health Organization (WHO) and other international organisations, Slovakia enjoys access to supply chains, scientific authorities and the coordination of crisis measures. "If Peter Kotlar wanted to withdraw us from the WHO or similar organisations, it would harm Slovakia and our patients," said Dvorak. According to the MP, there are enough experts in Slovakia who have repeatedly refuted and disproved Kotlar's claims. Authorities such as the State Institute for Drug Control and the European Medicines Agency have said that they are dangerous and erroneous opinions, noted Dvorak. "Just as I shouldn't express professional opinions on mRNA vaccines and their composition due to my lack of qualifications, neither should he," he added. Earlier on Thursday, Kotlar called on the coalition and Prime Minister Robert Fico (Smer-SD) to end vaccination with mRNA vaccines using nanotechnology-based distribution. He reiterated that his findings pointed out that all tested vaccine batches are capable of altering human DNA, which could lead to the development of several serious diseases. mf/df
