Poll: PS Would Have Won Election, with Smer-SD Runner-up in Early April

Bratislava, April 11 (TASR) - If a parliamentary election had been held in early April, it would have been won by the opposition Progressive Slovakia (PS) on 21 percent of votes, followed by Smer-SD on 19.3 percent, according to a poll conducted by Focus agency on behalf of 360tka website.
Also making it into parliament would have been Voice-SD (10.9 percent), Christian Democrats (KDH - 8.4 percent), Republic (8.2 percent), 'Slovakia' party (7.3 percent) and Freedom and Solidarity (SaS - 6.6 percent).
Parties failing to make it past the 5-percent election threshold would have included the Hungarian Alliance (4.7 percent), Democrats (4.3 percent) and the currently governing Slovak National Party (SNS - 3.9 percent).
Based on the polls, PS would have garnered 39 seats in Parliament, followed by Smer-SD - 36, Voice-SD - 20, KDH and Republic - 15 each, 'Slovakia - 13 and SaS - 12.
The poll was carried out in April 1-8 on a sample of 1,020 respondents.
